Day 2- Evening- whole group (The blind line)

After tea we headed off to the Blind line course.

We got kitted out in hemets and blindfolds.

The children played listening games to develop their communication and listening skills. This resulted in much hilarity, as it turns out it is trickier than you would think to find a partner making the same noise as you, when you are surrounded by other people making different animal noises!

After this warm up, the work began in ernest. The childern paired up and guided their blindfolded partner around the low ropes course. the aim was to follow the guide rope under and around the course using only verbal commands and physical gestures, but as you can see the course just kept getting trickier.

There was just time before bed for a quick game of 'Squeeze racing'. This game, for those of you who are unfamiliar, require the team to pass a squeeze from one end of the line to another with their eyes closed. The first team with their end person stood up, wins. Team 1 were in the lead for three rounds but eventually team two overtook them with some deft teamwork.
